This is another innovative design from GRS, but it seems like it wasn't very popular, since this kind of light is quite rare to find in service (although Michigan has a good amount of these).
The principle of the light is the same as with any other lights, except that the visor comes as a tube protuding from the light and the background, having the lens attached on the end. The sidelights are also located on the rear side of the housing.
This kind of light is made completely of plastic and seems to be pretty fragile and very easy to damage. They aren't very bright either, Those factors probably resulted in a quick death in manufacturing.
12"x20" plastic lights were also made, but are even rarer to find than 8" plastics.
