This crossing is located on the CSX S&NA South Subdivision.
Overviews of this almost-pure 1990s CSX install. |
The first signal. |
It's a Lincoln Industries cantilever. |
The emergency information. |
The front mast lights are WCH 12x24 inch lights! |
The overhead lights are more WCH 12x24 inch lights! |
A Safetran base. |
A Safetran gate mechanism. |
The rear mast lights are Safetran 12x24 inch lights. |
The bell is a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell. |
These gate lights are all Safetran incandescent gate lights! |
The only non-original things at this crossing are the bell and emergency information signs! Everything else here is entirely original to the 1990s install!
The second signal. |
Another Safetran base. |
Another Safetran gate mechanism. |
A warning sticker about overhead power lines. |
The emergency information. |
This signal has all Safetran 12x24 inch lights, with the "front" lights being positioned rather poorly, IMO. |
The gate lights are two Safetran incandescent gate lights and a RECO incandescent gate light (with a blown bulb)! |
Track view looking north towards Jackson Avenue. |
Track view looking south towards Logan Road. |
The relay case with the street name on it. |
The crossing activates! |
A southbound CSX grain train comes through with two YN2 AC44CWs, CSX 34 and CSX 32, for power! |
The train passes and the crossing deactivates... |
...except for a breif tail-ring malfunction afterwards! |
A return trip to the crossing on 1-8-22 finds that CSX has replaced all of the gate lights here. |
The first signal now has all NEG LED gate lights. |
The second signal now has more NEG LED gate lights. The front lights here were also re-aimed and now face the same way. |
Pictures 1-48 and the first video were taken on 11-29-17.
Pictures 49-56 were taken on 1-8-22.
The second video was taken on 6-26-22.
