This is quite an unusual crossing. These lone 8" signals protect a 1/2 mile spur line run by Union Pacific that goes to a warehouse to deliver lumber.

Pictures 1-7 show the Southern signal. It has shield guards on the lights, and has a US&S teardrop bell!

This crossing only sees activity on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The lights on picture 7 were made by US&S/WABCO.

Pictures 8-11 show the Northern signal. It too has a US&S teardrop bell. It does not have shield guards though.

Pictures 1-11 were taken on September 24, 2005.

Upon coming back here in March 9, 2006, the non shielded lights are not US&S/WABCO like first thought, but WCH 8" lights.

On May 17, 2006 it's discovered that there are some unwelcomed changes.

1) The teardrop on the right signal on picture 29 is gone! Wires are exposed!

2) The visor and grid covering the 8" light on the right light in picture 30 is falling off.

Rrxingrick thinks it was thievery, and I agree with him.

On September 17, 2006 there are more changes!

The missing Teardrop bell has been replaced with a WCH mechanical bell, but it isn't just any ordinary WCH mechanical bell! The bell came from the Sierra Highway #2 crossing! The bell was dead at that crossing. It was brought over here. It works somewhat, but not perfectly. The old spot where the Sierra Highway #2 bell was at is now occupied by a WCH type 2 electronic bell.

The visor that was leaning downward in picture 30 has also been fixed.

Also, the WCH bell is still in poor operating shape.

UPDATE: I've been told that the crossing has been upgraded to 12"x20" frames, and the WCH bell is missing too.
