Here's another crossing that belongs to UP and Metrolink. Pictures 1-5 are facing Southeast. These two signals are what Metrolink installed, and they are both 12"x24" ball L.E.Ds. in Modern Industries frames and 2 tracks signs. The bell seen on pictures 1, 2, 4, and 5 is an Safetran mechanical bell.

Look how small the gate is on picture 1 on the median signal! It used to be a gateless signal, until Metrolink decided to put a gated median signal in.

Pictures 6 and 7 show the other side of the crossing facing Northeast with the UP signals. The shoulder signal has 12"x20" incandescent lights. The median signal has 12"x24" dotted L.E.D. lights. Both signals are made from WCH products.

All 3 gate mechanisms belong to WCH. The gate lights are 4" incandescent lights.

The median signal is kind of new. There was an older one, but it kept on getting knocked down by careless motorists.

Once again, two relay cases protect this crossing.

Picture 11 shows a signal that Metrolink put in. Despite what it looks like, it's NOT a hooded signal. All three lights have visors.

Here are a few tri-color lights that UP has.

Pictures 1-12 were taken September 24, 2005.

The front and rear Modern Industries lights have been replaced with WCH L.E.D. lights. The sidelight as seen in pictures 15-16 has been left alone. The Safetran bell seen in picture 13 was changed to a WCH mechanical bell.

I wasn't told what happened to the median short gated signal, so I assume nothing's changed on that signal.

Another look at the other side of the crossing. It appears that nothing's changed on this side of the tracks.

The median signal has changed to 12"x20" with front and rear lights! The lights are Harmon fading L.E.D. lights.

You can see a missing visor on the left light in picture 31. The right 12"x20" lights are still the same.

The dead WCH mechanical bell was replaced with a WCH type 2 electronic bell, and the UP signal in pictures 38-40 now has Aurora L.E.D. gate lights.

The old WCH mechanical bell was transferred to the 8th Street East crossing after one of the US&S teardrop bells was stolen. The bell was brought back to life somewhat, but still has some problems.
