Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Hi all. I got back into filming crossings earlier this month and ended up getting plenty of footage while in Victoria and the northern part of South Australia. I have edited the first video which covers the Nunn Street, Benalla crossing. This is the last mainline Victorian crossing with a teardrop ...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Mildura seems to be stuck in a time capsule when it comes to what is protecting their level crossings. Despite being a major regional city, there’s only three gated crossings across the whole area, those being the Calder Highway, Cowra Avenue, and the Benetook Avenue & 11th Street crossings. Obviou...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Just noticed that this crossing on the disused Mount Gambier line in Penola, SA still has its signals intact as of December last year! :TUP1: https://www.google.com/maps/@-37.3834247,140.827339,3a,15y,60.64h,89.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQ6vluyZavTCPO1sWExzZbw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 A closer look at the s...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
On the last day of my holiday in Mildura before we drive back right now. I want to report that this signal at Karadoc Avenue has been replaced entirely. https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.2272535,142.1709093,3a,73.5y,46.07h,88.27t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sZoD7e8ZtFaYKOgibJmIleg!2e0 https://www.google.com/m...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Found something pretty unfortunate about the Sisely Avenue crossing in Wangaratta. The remaining hybrid bell and Westinghouse EB gate mechanism has been replaced with a Siemens e-bell and a WCH gate mech. https://www.google.com/maps/@-36.3606018,146.3104044,3a,36.9y,275.96h,89.73t/data=!3m4!...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Seriously, Daniel Andrews?! Haven't you removed enough crossings?!

If he wins, that's very crossing between Royal Park and Coburg gone.

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
I believe the Old Geelong Road crossing in Hoppers Crossing has now been replaced by an overpass. I'm not sure if the signals are still there or not, but Chris96 might be able to confirm this for us. Sadly, this means that there are no more mechanical bells left on the Werribee line now. :Awww: Also...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Nice to see the Lydiard Street crossing finally reopened, but now it is a generic V/Line crossing like the rest of the crossings in Ballarat. I wish they took the time to to repair the swing gates though. I think the new signals should have had cantilevers too, seeing how busy the road is.
