Re: Locations Of Currently Existing US&S TEARDROPS
Well, as a collaboration between JosephTrains, Gametrain, TommyBNSF, several other railfans, and I, we have compiled every known US&S Teardrop location into one interactive map for easy viewing! Across the map, we have marked-out 410 different Teardrop locations, which break-down as follows: 144 ac...

Vertical Lift Barriers in Canada?
So I came across this photo taken in the Georgetown District of Vancouver 1975 on Rail Pictures, looks to me like the grade crossing protection here is equipped with lift-barriers! Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case? This'll be the first I've seen of this sort of protection here in Nor...

Re: Locations Of Currently Existing US&S TEARDROPS
One still exists at the Calle Fabrica (Industry Road) in Havana, Cuba.
I am told it still works, it just operates manually, as in when a crossing guard is on duty. btw this is the only one at this crossing, the other side has a typical Russian flasher setup.

Very Interesting.
So I found this photo taken in 1955 at Ft. Lauderdale, Fl at the F.E.C. Station. (FEC) Fort Lauderdale Station, 1955.jpg Can you spot what's so special about this picture? If you can't, here's the answer. That's a bloody US&S DW-Type Wig Wag upgraded with flashers and a WRRS bell (Most likely a moto...

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I know there's a curve in the road, but are two signals so close together necessary?
Btw these are classic USSR-Era Lights

Re: Locations Of Currently Existing US&S TEARDROPS
Ok so for a second I got scared that these signals were completely removed, but it looks like they were just moved aside. This was an old WRRS setup in Eskişehir, Turkey. Note the signal on the left hand side, other side of the tracks. The bell is still there. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.771594,...

Woah... Pretty much the last place I'd think to find this! https://www.google.com/maps/@8.2359544,80.3511661,3a,43.1y,87.46h,89.97t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s2FzxknK9aIBEdpBfMh9rGA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Though, by the sound of this video it's either out of service, or been replaced by a Danish E-Bell. Those ...

Re: South Florida Signals
I was recently in Hialeah for Memorial Day, since we always pass by the Metrorail Transfer Station on our way I was able to check out any changes. The only major change is the replacement of the 1980's era WCH Signal with a newer Siemens setup. The old setup, the WCH Mechanical Bell was replaced a w...
