Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Hi all. I got back into filming crossings earlier this month and ended up getting plenty of footage while in Victoria and the northern part of South Australia. I have edited the first video which covers the Nunn Street, Benalla crossing. This is the last mainline Victorian crossing with a teardrop b...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Just noticed that this crossing on the disused Mount Gambier line in Penola, SA still has its signals intact as of December last year! :TUP1: https://www.google.com/maps/@-37.3834247,140.827339,3a,15y,60.64h,89.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQ6vluyZavTCPO1sWExzZbw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 A closer look at the s...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Very nice pictures and finds everyone. I haven’t posted here in a while, so I thought I’d report on some crossing “wins” in South Australia this year. Earlier this year, I found the very much pleasant occurrence that the WCH 2nd Generation M bell on the southern side of the Marion Road, Plympton cro...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Nice pictures SBMetro! Something seems off about those new crossbucks, I think it may be the angle the crossbucks are at, they seem smaller than 45 degrees. It may also be the font although I have a bit of trouble picking the difference  On a recent trip I ended up exploring the last 3 ope...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Haven’t posted here in a while, but I thought I’d share some of my finds from a recent trip to Queensland. First off, there appears to be a “Pearson’s xing signal” manufactured by Mck&h preserved in non operational condition at the Ipswich railway museum. That, some signage (including 1 piece crossb...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Rip FS Gate Mechs ): this year there has been loads of good stuff being replaced which sucks. I don’t remember if I already said this but the Cormack Rd crossing in Wingfield that Mck&h Aust filmed (with WCH first gen m bell and Westinghouse incandescents) got new signals, with a combo of a wch e be...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Change of topic, I made a visit to the Morphett vale miniature railway and found out they have an operational WRRS bell at one of the crossings! It’s the only active protection at a crossing there but still very cool. Woodville road on the Outer Harbor line still has normal crossbucks so that’s a re...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Today we went for a drive to Melbourne so I could film some stuff for my YouTube channel and here is what I got filmed: - I filmed the railway infrastructure at the Sunshine and Roofing and did a video making the teardrop bell and hybrid bell sound by using a metal post to reach both bells. - I the...

Re: Australian Railroad Crossing Signals
Flat gates will be getting trialed at Evens Road in Lyndbrook sometime soon. Will be interesting to see which gate lights are used. 3F472DC1-4090-47BA-BCFD-8345EC20FB87.jpeg 6B26A11E-8B8F-480F-9E8F-0C43301E6CBC.jpeg 25AE4103-1A07-4AF2-B635-EC8D16324E67.jpeg I will go check out the crossing in a few...
