Re: 3-20-24 Update

Do they use those signals in Bayard? There are identical ones on the UP serviced elevator branch line in Farnhamville as well. Although nothing will beat the dog doing it's business when the Google Maps car went by one of the Bayard crossings. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.8533239,-94.55797...

Line is dormant, but here's something you certainly don't see often at a public crossing. Has a matching inverse SORS as well. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.1709341,-73.3329489,3a,54y,109h,100.24t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sT0K6v4fwjzwbp7ilzD3OsQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu Oh nice! Re: Different ways to mark a crossing out of service

Iowa does not use the "Tracks out of Service' signs. Either exempt signs are posted (Iowa code says that a portion of rail must be removed on both sides of the crossing to be eligible to post the crossing as exempt), the crossing is left to fall apart - whether or not it is paved over, or the signs ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhSErDyV6vI I wondered if the recent purchase announcement of the Iowa Northern by Canadian National might delay the removal of the Utilities spur. Somehow it doesn't surprise me now that CN may consider another use for these tracks and perhaps decide not to abandon t...
