Fight that E-bell! Let it all out!

Image

Someone else's photo. On a Metra platform. It still worked apparently and a maintainer handed it off to one of the older Chicago fans.

Rectangular E-Bells?

These bells are crazy. They remind me of GS bells but square. I think they might be WCH e-bells in a square container. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/252273_271896802917185_1267923106_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/252273_271896802917185_1267923106_n.jpg http://www.youtube....

Re: Can't figure out whats worse, kid or xing?

Kid.

He has no sense. At first, okay, he's inspecting the crossing. But then, the wild homo childous roams along the railroad tracks to inspect his unfamiliar surroundings with his usual stupid acts.

He needs some help. Hopefully CSX Police won't get to him before his parents!

The original signal position in the middle of the asphalt is obvious. :D

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt

I went back to that crossing, the backgrounds were just still faded.

Check out this generic crossing on the TP&W:

I can't tell if it's just malfunction or a slow train? I don't see headlights.

Dying Safetran Bell Crossing

I like how the crossing surges to life as the lights flash fast.

You never know! Some signalling equipment can last quite awhile. Though I feel a little doubtful after considering what you said. It has been a long time...

That squar-ish building with the brown roof is a large diner. It has big windows facing the tracks, those are the UP's Villa Grove Tracks. Get a clean, open window and enjoy some food. Put your camera up to the window and never miss a train while you eat.

Re: Maumee & Western in Ohio

Man, that's a great find! I really have to say, if ANYONE is in the Ohio area, GO AND GET THOSE! That's what this site is all about. Documenting crossing signals and set-ups before they are upgraded and then documenting the new upgrades to get a complete picture. Additionally, those signals are a ve...

Re: What is your favorite... Gate Mechanism?

Thanks. In addition, I'd like to point out that the new Invsys by Safetran mechanisms are still S-mechanisms. The two models are the S-40 and the S-60. I've been told the S-40 is the better mechanism. Both use an LED-based system to alter of gate mechanism status and of any failures. I'm not too sur...
