Re: Locations Of ACTIVE US&S TEARDROPS
Well there are also the ones on Hunziker Street in Tigard but that crossing hasn't seen a train in years so I doubt that qualifies as 'active'. :CloseEye: I just checked on Google Street view, and it appears that the signals are still there, but something has changed. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl...

Re: Good train horns.
2 videos of 2 BNSF units whose horns reveal they were once ATSF warbonnets. Good idea, repainting the units but leaving the horns alone because they work fine. :TUP1: An unknown BNSF Heritage II unit in Norman, OK BNSF 858, a Heritage II unit at Fort Rock Rd. in Seligman, AZ EDIT: You see what appea...

Re: owensri's Crossing Videos
Bell is activated when the X relay is dropped (as in, the detection circuit senses a train is coming) and also when the gate is anywhere but horizontal (Down). The eight cars that derailed, including the one that exploded, were on the end of one UP train. They derailed when...

Re: Locations Of ACTIVE Safetran Type 1 E-Bells
I do like the sound of the Safetran Type 1 e-bell, but I don't like its housing. I have no guess as to why the Type 1's chip was discontinued, but I have a suspicion as to why the Type 1's housing was discontinued. Click here and watch what the bell does at 0:20. My guess is that the housing was too...

Nathan/Airchime K-series horns
I read about the K-series horns, and I was surprised to learn they were originally made for Canada! I'm going to explain the details of this, and the stats on each model below. First off, the third character in each model name, either an L or H, doesn't mean anything about the sound of the horn. It ...
