Found this in my subscriptions feed today:
Looks like someone whacked the gate arm when it was lowering and managed to twist the gate mech around...

A break rod would have simply just snapped the gate off, I'm sure.

Dragging this over from the signals being damaged/destroyed thread.
The driver had his handbrake disengaged, so after impact, the truck rolls forwards, breaks the crossing gate off, then rolls into a ditch.

Found this while looking at this guy's YouTube channel.
According to the description, the signals were being tested, but the guy decided to rather leave the scene than rather call it in.
