UP filed last year to abandon a few lines outside Escalon. I did some quick looking around and found some interesting stuff. I didn't look very far though, so there's bound to be some "undiscovered" stuff .

Abandoned? Nope. It's still in use. I've been down most of those roads plenty of times and ALL of the Griswold's are still there. Tidewater Southern Used to operate on that line.

That's good news.

The report I read was that UP had only filed for abandonment. The actual process could take quite a while
