I forgot about that one! It's been a long time since I have seen that movie. I found a pirated copy of it on Youtube. Here is a still with the signal in it.

According to a website about the movie, the crossing still exists, it is in South Pasadena at the corner of Merdian and Mission St.

It's interesting finding where the crossing shown is located and comparing it to what is shown in the movie/TV series to what it looks like today. Back when the film was shot, it was probably a freight only line. But today, it's a commuter rail crossing.

Anyways, in an episode (can't remember the name) of "Walker, Texas Ranger" there's a Safetran m-bell audible towards the beginning of the episode.

The line mentioned was actually the ATSF mainline for a long time. They decided to stop running over that section and the L.A Metro whatever bought the ROW and used it.

That is a wishbone gate, I mentioned that in the original post.

Anyways, here's a rather freakish South Australia PSA called "Don't Play With Trains". I'll let the video do the talking...

Honestly, anyone that stops on the tracks pretty much deserves to be hit by a train. I'm not too sure where the passive crossing shown was located, but the other crossing seen is at Harris St, Birkenhead on the Outer Harbor line.

Back in 2013, the crossing still had m-bells and a wishbone gate on one of the signals (and looked the exact same as it did in the video).

There's another version of this PSA, but you get the idea.

Welcome Aboard V/Line (1987) featured a gateless crossing signal towards the end of the video (at 14:30)

I'm not 100% sure what crossing it is, but judging by the train that went through it, I suspect it to be somewhere on the Yelta line.

Also, this V/line commercial from 1985 featured a crossing with gateless signals with a McKenzie & Holland Teardrop bell (something you never see today at V/line crossings  ). Again, I'm unsure of the location.

The same crossing is seen in this 1988 commercial.

One in the 2000 film Final Destination, i think its Safetran or WRRS equipment. I think the bell is WCH or WRRS. They also used a BCRail train!

WARNING: The end of the video contains a decapitation, watch at your own risk.

In the Australian TV series "Kath & Kim" Season 3 episode "The Mango Espadrille". The Dendy & New Street, Brighton level crossing is featured in a scene where the train they're riding passes through it.

Yes, the crossing runs through a roundabout! At the time, the crossing had WRRS gate mechs, a mix of McK&H and Westinghouse 8" lights, and a McK&H Teardrop & Safetran m-bell (though only the latter is audible, despite the fact that both bells rang when the gates were lowered).

Here's the crossing in 2013, the crossing remained unchanged from when that episode first aired (October 2004).

But shortly after that image was taken, Metro put e-bells on the crossing. :Curse1:

This crossing was the last in Melbourne to have the Teardrop & Safetran bell combo. Another interesting thing about the clip is the train that passes through it. It's a EDI refurbished Comeng in the M>Train livery. When this episode first aired, M>Train's portion of Melbourne's Metropolitan rail network had been taken over by Connex earlier that year in April. Connex later replaced the M>Train livery with theirs, or just temporarily covered the M>Train logos. Connex was later dumped in favor of current operator Metro Trains in December 2009.

Heres a clip from Destroyed in Seconds, which shows an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner destroy a semi trucks trailer at a railroad crossing.
The impact of the accident destroyed a gate, and severely damaged the lead engine.

Since the video was recorded (February 2005) and the episode airing three years later, theres been a lot of changes to the crossing.

The cantilever shown where the camera was severely damaged in 2010/2011 when a driver under the influence drove into it, It now has Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Harmon Fading LEDs and a GS type 2 E-Bell.
The median signals 12x20 inch lights were retrofitted with WCH 2nd Generation LEDS? Along with its WCH bell being replaced with a WCH E-Bell.
The other median signals had its 12x24 inch lights retrofitted with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs? Its WCH bell also got a WCH E-Bell.
The other cantliever had its 12x24 inch and 12x20 inch lights retrofitted with WCH 2nd generation LEDS. The WCH bell is still there and still works!
Along with that, the gates were replaced with Alstom LED gate lights.
