Good finds Krunch. There are abandoned rail beds all over Indiana and Ohio. Most got ripped out when Penn Central formed because they had lines that bypassed other lines. PC was mainly PRR and NYC (Huge rival companies) and then later New Haven, so when they merged they had a lot to get rid of. Hence a bunch of neat lines were abandoned.

UGH the worst merger in american history.
Near me we have the old Rock Island STL-KC line now only used between STL-Union Missouri by Progressive Rails Central Midland

I don't think that gate had moved anytime recently... they installed those wires directly in it's path!

I saw a video on youtube once where a gate whacked an over head power line cant find it anymore.

yah a lot of bridges remain but track is all grown over, washed out and even been stolen in some places.

WSOR has started brushing out the old C&NW rail line today, from Reed St. to Clifford St. Construction will begin soon on the NE portion of the future "WYE" track, so WSOR can have more siding capacity in Plymouth at this time. With the increased quarried rock traffic, they desire to get the 8 to 10 plastics cars off the main line and onto a new siding. This new siding will become part of the WYE when the entire rebuild project is completed.

Trains will once again operate from Plymouth to Sheboygan. Plymouth-Sheboygan Falls has been out of service since sometime in the 1980s. Sheboygan Falls to Kohler was embargoed by UP in 2005.

Unfortunately, the wigwags in Sheboygan Falls and Kohler are already removed. Train traffic will return to the crossings, but with standdard flashing light signals.
