Re: Bell only crossings
Here is one in Riverside, CA. Two crossbucks and a mechanical bell, most likely WCH.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was originally a wigwag.chris96 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 1:17 amFound this one in Anaheim, California where the tracks are in the middle of the road:

The Google car finally went past the 2nd bell-only crossing at Superior, IA.

Still haven't gotten a good close up of the other one yet, but as of last pass, it appears UPRR put one of the nasty Ariel font crossbucks on it.

Re: Bell only crossings
Recorded this bell only crossing over on the KCS Mexico Sub today. This particular one is located outside of Odessa, Missouri as you are going into town. One of 7 bell only crossings on the Mexico Sub. There is another crossing similar to this one over on Blue Book Rd, but that crossing has a GS Type 2 (the rest of those crossings have GS Type 2s) while Curtis Rd (the crossing I filmed at) has a GS Type 1. The lone signal was originally installed by the Chicago & Alton railroad.
Proud owner of a safetran mechanical bell and Griswold mechanical bell along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.
Re: Bell only crossings
May have been shared here before, but here's one in Davenport, IA on an out-of-service CP spur line, which also features a Milwaukee Road-era 45 degree crossbuck. I hope to get out here and shoot it before it's gone.
