Oldest???
I've always wondered what is the oldest operating non-wigwag active crossing in the U.S.?
Re: Oldest???
Likely one situated on a barely used Class 3 railroad in the midwest somewhere.

I bet this signal was before it was removed in 2009.

Their exact location escapes me at the moment, but I believe somewhere in the UP of Michigan there is a crossing with two ancient background-less mast signals on concrete median islands. These would be a good candidate, as would any of the few Griswold rotating stop sign signals still standing.

There are actually a few more of those cantilevers around Saginaw that I never knew existed until about 1-2 years ago.

crossing signals are the same way lots of old equipment was used until hurricane Katrina anyways.
