Yeah those are not Swedish gates.
The counterweights are the way they are because their purpose is to keep the gates properly balanced, even if it means installing them differently than normal.
Those 8" lights I think are actually GRS lights. And older than 60s/70s as well.
RACO did not make those cantilevers! They are either GRS, US&S, or Griswold!

My second thought was going to be US&S because of the vandal guard, but those looked to be a little too new for US&S.freebrickproductions wrote:The 8 inch lights are actually WABCO lights, it appears.

But the real question to ask is, why have yellow and red striped Swedish style gates? Was this some sort of experiment?ZachL wrote:Yeah those are not Swedish gates.

Are there any other changes to the crossing not shown there aside from the e-bell?

Not AFAIK. It was beginning to get dark when I went through. The only thing that could be different might be the addition of wind guards, but even I am unsure of thatZachL wrote:Are there any other changes to the crossing not shown there aside from the e-bell?

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
WCH e-bells have been cropping up on the BNSF occasionally, which makes me wonder if they're starting to move away from General Signals e-bells, or were just experimenting with them like they did with the Safetran Type 3s.Erik-Gorb-Hamilton wrote:Not AFAIK. What's the point of installing a canteliever when your not gonna use it?

(IMO, the question to ask is whether this part of the line was supposed to be resurrected, but then it fell through suddenly)
What could be on this flatcar?
