Found a rare EM gate mechanism in Joplin, MO

There used to be a second one at this crossing, but it sadly got replaced with a newer wch gate mechanism :Awww:

Judging by the corrosion on that EM gate, it could be at risk of replacement.

Active crossing in Brandon, MS.

Look's like street view was blocked here by this stopped train!
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2916452 ... 328!8i1664

I wonder what could've been here? Can't imagine it being some sort of train station.
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2870118 ... 312!8i6656

Not sure if these are GE E-Bells or WCH E-Bells.
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2931656 ... 312!8i6656

Incomplete crossing. Can't imagine if this is acting as gateless (with the signal active with gate mechs not) or if just protected by signage.
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.2984481 ... 328!8i1664

I wasn't aware backpanels were metal, i thought they were some sort of plastic, it's rather confusing seeing corrosion for lightheads that seem to be less/more than 10 years old.

:Awww: Someone better go there one night and get rid of the corrosion :JK: :LOL3:
Proud owner of a Safetran 3rd Gen M-Bell, a GS Type 2 bell, a dead GS type 1 bell, a WRRS M-bell, and a US&S H-2 searchlight signal.
Why does everyone copy my signature?

OG signal collection signature, I think. :LOL2:

It's probably still there, considering the fact that appears to be a shortline.

Looks like a KCS line, so those are almost undoubtedly GE.

Some are metal, some are plastic, at least when it comes to Safetran lights like that. Mainly depends on what the railroad wants.

An e-bell got added to the far signal there sometime between 2008 and 2011.

What is this thing? I recall asking about it in 2017-2018, isn't this supposed to be an E-Switch or something, and more importantly what's the need for the LED signal? That wasn't there when it was a manually operated switch.

CSX Maintenance truck lacking a Florida license plate for the front, not sure if it's a requirement as if i recall i think states have certain laws regarding front/rear license plates.
https://www.google.com/maps/@27.9416365 ... 312!8i6656

Damaged signal, quite amazing to see how the Safetran type 2 managed to cling on!
https://www.google.com/maps/@27.9436033 ... 312!8i6656

The signal has not been realigned, but the bell was replaced as it was too damaged to repair.
https://www.google.com/maps/@27.9435688 ... 312!8i6656

This signal for the side street with the GS E-Bell reminds me slightly of Dutch crossings.

Wishbone pedestrian gate! Too bad it's been replaced now.

Quad gate construction with an error.
