You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

I knew about those.

Here's a picture of a crossing in Riverside, CA that has them taken back in 2004:

Caught this...a P&W maintenance truck near one of the Hall Boulevard crossings (the one-way) in Beaverton.

Sunnyvale, CA:

If you go forward on N Mary Ave, you can see the signals start up. BTW, that particular crossing is the one in this vid:

Harrison Street. Hollywood, FL. Van Buren becomes Harrison at Dixie, and my theory is this is FEC 109, Bowden to Miami, and if not, then it's 335. Don't know what was with the wiring.

Plus one in Opa Locka, likely a Tri-Rail, but the gates were seen down.

Additonally, 54th Street in Hialeah. Go eastward and you'd find the gates starting to drop upon careful looking. Only moden 2000s ish Safetran cantilever in Miami-Dade County.

Possibly the 'other' train that was in question as per the previous post. There is no way cameras along Van Buren could have caught the same thing.

Discovered this when browsing Hollywood Blvd EB.

Yes. Addresses to find it are visible. 54th and Van Buren shots look NE, Blvd. shot looks east, and the Opa Locka one looks SE.

This crossing in Albany, Oregon was tripped by a UP train switching but it looks as though the Google Maps car ran the gates when in reality they were going up. If you go back and forth down this street, you can see the train comes forward, then stops and backs up.

Not the first time this car had gotten stopped by this train. It also got stopped here:

Gates Down: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 54.57,,0,5

Train approaching: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 84.57,,0,5

That first one looks like it has US&S 12"x20" lights. It looks nice without that WCH electronic bell.

The other one isn't bad either, except for the e-bell.
