It's not all that uncommon to see bells turned like that, tbh

To me it actually seems more natural to have the rain shield side of the M-bell facing forward (same direction as the crossbuck, lights for approaching traffic, etc) than sideways. Both are pretty common, though.

CFCR decided to keep the Safetran Type 3 from the Landstreet Road crossing.

Yes, but the road literally dead ends soon after the crossing.

I also mistakenly thought in one frame that they were 8 inch lights with 12x24 shades. :Tongue1:

Your point? A lot of roads have railroad crossings feet before they end. Hell, even many home driveways have their own railroad crossings, too...
