There should be a legal limit as to how humid it can be on any given day during the summer here in the South...

Likely due to the gate being at an angle, and the junction box being closer to the mast was likely done to prevent the visors from getting hit by a train.

It's already bad enough at the crossings that have visors in the way of semis :Scared:

A crossing on the NY/MA state line with what appear to be some older Conrail signals with Safetran S-85 gate mechs!

Marion is a goldmine for older crossing signal equipment. However, CSX is upgrading 8 of their crossings in town, so these won't be too much longer for the world :Awww:

Some of them were upgraded years ago because of the fact that they were gateless (even though they had ped gates, but no road gates). It seems like Ohio requires all gateless crossings to be LED now.

Here's an interesting old design (as of August 2013), but this one has a split crossbuck.
