Finding at-grade crossings in the UK is hard enough! I found one on Street View that is ACTIVE!!!

You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

Either my eyes are messing with me, or I'm missing something somewhere... But I'd swear that one gate has three gate lights and the other three only have two...AndrewFields wrote:Finding at-grade crossings in the UK is hard enough! I found one on Street View that is ACTIVE!!!

And not much farther down the line, there's one that's active on satellite view!AndrewFields wrote:Finding at-grade crossings in the UK is hard enough! I found one on Street View that is ACTIVE!!!

Looking southwest, you can see the train that's activating it.
It's called Barton Ln. level crossing, and here's a video of it, beginning at 1:36:

Good eye... I would have probably missed that. Except for the pole, it pretty much blends into the background scenary.AndrewFields wrote:Found a semaphore signal still active in Westfield, Massachusetts.

that would be an intersting image of the car getting nailed by the train
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Ben Franklin

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

Yeah... I was thinking the same thing myself. But... that train looked like it was quite a bit down the tracks. I'm sure other people (present company excluded) would have done it too.TRAINMANKIGHT wrote:i just love how the street view guy busts through every crossing he sees activeSmjh1979 wrote:Here's an active one: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 43945&z=15

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Kind of reminds me of the pedestrian signal setups in Oregon.
