That crossing is already on the site.UnionPacific4Life wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 12:51 pmhttps://www.google.com/maps/@38.7015046 ... 384!8i8192
GRS Gate mech at Granite City, IL

I still wonder why they haven't removed the cantilever and gate mech if it's abandoned.

1. I know
2. It was on a track that was removed, but the cantilever still functions when the crossing is active.

I'm sure historic aerials might know. As a matter of fact, I actually found out when the track got removed. sometime in 2006 is when the track got removed. A 2005 aerial show shows the track still intact and not removed. Still haven't found why it was removed in the first place. Guessing it was not needed anymore. Not 100% sure, but that's my theory.UnionPacific4Life wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 2:46 pmI don’tNascar Fan007 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 2:45 pmDo you know when the track was removed?UnionPacific4Life wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 1:40 pm1. I think it was the old station track, theres a old boarded-up station next to the old alignment.
