you really can't just stripe half of a gate and call it good

this means that

a

either the railroad company didn't bother to stripe the agte

or b

it just faded away
very lucky to live two-three blocks away from three teardrop bells. one of which i see at least once a week!

It's definitely a spur, but by the famous crossing itself, it has to be out of service, especially with missing gates

Looks like a repair job more than anything.
Also could be a GRS or Griswold cantilever...it's hard to tell without seeing it up close.
