*Buckeye crossbuck setups were common in Ohio when that first image was taken. There aren't many left now.NathanFromEngland wrote: Buckseye setup.

That's a Safetran S85, which I've posted about several times by now, even just a few posts upthread.NathanFromEngland wrote:Quite a strange gate mechanism.

That is a rather nice crossing though, with the older Conrail equipment and two S85s.
That's more like a 1980s Conrail install, though it could be very, very early 1990s.NathanFromEngland wrote: 1990's Conrail installation.

Not sure why, but NS slapped in a completely old signal (With the exception of the Safetram Type 3) which includes an old NS paper DOT tag!

Unused in-tact signal sitting in a rail junkyard + damaged signal at a crossing = Saved $$NathanFromEngland wrote:Not sure why, but NS slapped in a completely old signal (With the exception of the Safetram Type 3) which includes an old NS paper DOT tag!

Similar thing in Blissfield, Michigan with 8" signals except the previous signals were much older.ZachL wrote:Unused in-tact signal sitting in a rail junkyard + damaged signal at a crossing = Saved $$NathanFromEngland wrote:Not sure why, but NS slapped in a completely old signal (With the exception of the Safetram Type 3) which includes an old NS paper DOT tag!

Looks like it's a wayside signal. Gotta make sure the system is up to date, don't want to have a disaster.NathanFromEngland wrote:CSX workers caught in the act installing a new signal
