It's not around anymore, but route 601 in Skillman, NJ used to have this weird signal that had lights in a strange position.

That's because he posted a video of it in another thread of his.
Also, the lights are mounted that way because those signals likely used to have wooden gates so they mounted the lights like that so they wouldn't hit the gate arm.
They/Them for me, please.

Do not know if this can count, but I think it is quite unique.

Must've been because the crossing had wooden gates originally.
I have to wonder what this thing is though:

For some reason, Ontario has a lot of Crossings with lights in weird places.

And you can't forget about the other segment they own that was recently re-activated again in Herrin, IL. There are some rather oddball ones there as well.

13th Street
14th Street
Park Ave. AKA IL 148

Wonder if these will go back into service as well...
W. Monroe
Herrin Rd.
We'll see if the new owners of COER can turn things around for the line or not.
Well, :Censored:

They both look as though they could also double as a jungle-gyms, or chin-up bars for maintainers trying to stay in shape. Perhaps CN has a new health care initiative.

Appears as though VIA or CN or whoever owns that line has been busy removing a lot of trackage in the area over recent years. I almost wonder if there wasn't perhaps a spur track or siding there, and that was a manual control for it.
Well, :Censored:
