There are a bunch of these on the UP Dallas sub line in the forney area. Dont like them whatsoever.

The sad part is a lot of motorists would take that stop sign more seriously than the crossbuck or a yield sign... but I agree, those don't offer the nice protection of flashing lights and a bell.

Cheers,
Joshua

Probably this (when it existed). Aren't too many weird signals around here.

I've seen quite a few in Melbourne.

Probably the strangest is this custom made VR cantilever located at Somerville Road, Brooklyn.

There's also this gated signal at Koornang Road, Carnegie where the lights, SORS sign, 2 Tracks sign, and Crossbuck are on a mast which sticks out from the main signal mast. Sadly, this crossing is being removed as part of the 'Andrews Government Level Crossing Removal Program'.

Odd median signals (which have traffic signals on them) at Poath Road, Hughesdale. They're removing this crossing too.

I can't even describe these monstrosities at Centre Road, Clayton. Also note how the median signals have the lights mounted above the crossbuck?

But guess what? It's being removed!

Rather tall signal at a crossing in Beaconsfield.

In my town we have a rare dual bell setup.... and its just a pedestrian crossing. The mounting of the side lights and the crossbuck on SJB's side is also quite interesting.

I don't know if this would be considered a bump or not, but the strangest/ most interesting crossing signal I've seen was this one in Vallejo, Ca. The tracks not only go through a road, they go through a drawbridge!

Streetlight cantilever, visor-less 8" lights above the 12X24" mast lights, two crossbucks, fire alarm bell.
https://goo.gl/maps/mJysoeBZELD2

Crossbuck before the signal.
https://goo.gl/maps/4t4xtBjvHVz

Block signal? Also, another Wheelock 6" Fire Bell.
https://goo.gl/maps/XHuhdWqmrhS2

WRRS Motor Bell?
https://goo.gl/maps/HHuriTwGJp92

Front view of the motor bell. Don't know why GSV makes it look so slim.

Another one?

https://goo.gl/maps/ygKGCg4ioLt

Three bells!
https://goo.gl/maps/WYXQD9sU9s12

Back of the bell, looks like some company's name on the back of the motor box.
https://goo.gl/maps/XzrSgyNwyDM2

Control box.

Motor bell on gate mechanism on other side.

https://goo.gl/maps/nujNibBUGPN2

Another one on the gate.
https://goo.gl/maps/MGP3qALmoNm
https://goo.gl/maps/GYaQXtNgB2s

The last bell on the traffic light.
https://goo.gl/maps/7cKJsWjhNCq
https://goo.gl/maps/5UqB67tQbF62

Steel deck sign. Never seen this before.
https://goo.gl/maps/LtgQNmar12o

Nothing but crossbuck on the other side.
https://goo.gl/maps/h27D5XDXTqK2

In 2007, there was just an RXR sign here.
https://goo.gl/maps/co9c3bgXbhz

As far as locally, I guess this would be the strangest crossing in the area. Nothing's out of the ordinary here in Whatcom County.

Yep. Those are motor bells. Not to surprised, since they are rather popular with drawbridges.

EDIT: Also, the pair of 8 inch lights above the crossbuck are missing their backgrounds, not visors.
They/Them for me, please.

Sorry, kinda derailing the thread here, but one of the shots of the drawbridge/railroad crossing has a shot taken at dusk!
