They also look to have 12 inch lenses. Odd, considering the fact that Austrailian crossings appear to be purely 8 inch.

The crossing could be out of service, the gates look to be chained up

Back in 2008 there were median lights https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.851488 ... 1664?hl=en
Tracks are also rusty, so combined with the removed signals and the chained up gates, I'd say that crossings is undoubtedly out of service.
They/Them for me, please.

Is this a Safetran type 1 e-bell? I've never seen one in Australia before.

It sure looks like it! They're undoubtedly rare here as well, so I'd imagine they're rarer over there.

Here's something I never expected to find, a wig wag on a public road :TUP1: The crossing seems to be out of service, it's a miracle the vandals have not trashed it yet.
Cameron Rd, Mount Barker https://www.google.com/maps/@-35.059341 ... 6656?hl=en

The next crossing further down the line is brand new, both images are from October 2015. It seems to be a tourist railway.

Found a North American style crossbuck at this crossing in NSW. Perhaps they are old Canadian imports?

Sadly that crossing no longer sees any trains. It is on a private spur line about 1.5 km long which used to service the Tubemakers factory. Pipes were railed out of here about once per week until the plant closed in late 2011. The site is now used to store cars that are trucked in through Port Kembla, although the line is still intact.

There is a youtube video from 1997 showing a train at this crossing. Back then it had all Mckenzie & Holland equipment (lights and teardrop bells). I love the sound of those old teardrops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_kjadOntMU
