Great finds . I saw a picture of one of those signals somewhere on Flickr, I think they were taken around the same time though . Also because of the snow train I found a couple videos and in the background you can see some of the crossings between Darrnum and Trafalgar. Looking through some footage it seems that Waterloo roads Trafalgar and a unarmed crossing in darnum have had there black stop on red signal signals replaced with new white ones . But the I’ll be going along there sometime soon so I will see what other crossings it happened to . Hopefully it hasn’t happened to that many others . You can see the crossings in these videos .

While traveling to Bendigo today, I discovered there are crossing signals on display under the new Melton Hwy overpass:

This was the best image I could get from inside the train.

Here's what the crossing at this location looked like before it was removed:

I also found this 'mock' gated signal setup in the Bendigo rail yards (most likely used for training/testing purposes). As you can see, V/Line store a lot of spare gates here too:

That’s good the Wishbone Gates at Lara are still there. Hopefully they are left alone for a while.
Disappointing about the SORS signs, because the older ones are very nice. I wonder if they are still made or if Metro just has a large stockpile and uses them? Maybe V/line gives the wishbone gates and SORS signs to metro?
That is so cool they have a Signal Display at Melton! And they used a hybrid bell too. I wonder what it sounds like? It reminds me of the vandalised signal at Port Adelaide. When I was younger I thought it was left over from a crossing removal, but there was never a crossing there at all.
Also tomorrow I am checking out another crossing upgrade on the Steamranger Railway, I believe it’s Goolwa Rd. Last time I saw it, the Signals with the signage, bell, light junction box, were there but no lights, or relay case. The passive protection was still there too. I wonder how it looks now since 3 months have passed since the last time I saw the crossing.
In other news, the South Gippsland Hwy Crossing at Cranbourne continues to deteriorate and more bits are going missing (either getting hit by vehicles and going into storage, or some crazy railfans stealing equipment off the crossing. I think the latter has happened more). One of the railway signs (the big one where there is a Railway sign on one side and a crossing sign on the other) has gone missing in recent months.

Hi guys I am Level Crossing Fan, you may know that I am the same person from my YouTube channel and I am new to the forum, although I don't know how to edit my forum name. I have some stuff to tell you all. Unfortunately on our way home from NSW on July 7th we passed by the McMahons Road level crossing in Springhurst, on the Hume Freeway and the crossing is now getting boom gates or it probably does now. :aaargh: New signal bases had been installed as well as new relay box bases, I had this crossing on my list to film but the train was going to long, so I had to leave it out. :Awww: A worthless upgrade as the road isn't very busy like other crossings along the North East line. RIP to another hybrid bell. :aaargh:

Welcome to forum Level Crossing Fan  that’s a shame another hybrid is going though.
Speaking of crossing replacements, the Wellington Rd, Mt Barker Crossing (with Lex-C lights) got its signals replaced :Cry1: it appears this happened so signals could have traffic lights on them for the new pedestrian crossing nearby, as the previous ones weren’t tall enough. The traffic lights aren’t operating yet but the signals are.The crossing is still cool because it now has 2 bells. They reused the WCH Bell, putting it on the other side and a new Safetran Type 3 Bell. The only other equipment reused is the white beacon light that was on top of the bell-less Signal. Also the new lights at the crossings are older Westinghouse LEDs. I wonder why they haven’t used the new Siemens 12 inch lights.
Also, the Goolwa Rd Crossing near Goolwa still has no lights, and the equipment there doesn’t operate yet. It also still has its passive protection.

I have a problem when I send a picture or more onto a post, once the post is uploaded it doesn't show the image. I click on the image icon and then I tried to put in this, 20190807_104308. Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Good the hybrids survive at those crossings Applehead137. I'm not upset of the stop on red signal signs been replaced though. I am also wondering what places around Victoria in a scrap bin would you be able to find level crossing infrastructure from? Max Grawe found the Marshall Street Ivanhoe bells in a dumpster in 2017 so I am just wondering?

Flat gates will be getting trialed at Evens Road in Lyndbrook sometime soon. Will be interesting to see which gate lights are used.

I will go check out the crossing in a few weeks and see if the new gates have been installed. I may not be able to take pictures of them though.
Metro, why are you so bad at maintaining your railway crossings??
