This article was shared on the Railway Crossings Facebook group, and is about the crossing signals being deactivated. One of the pictures at the top of the article shows the signals now:

I mentioned this crossing yesterday in a thread similar to this.

This crossing in Port Talbot, has been shut to traffic since July 2011. Its rubber grade to allow pedestrians through was removed last year when a footbridge overlooking its recently refurbished railway station was constructed in October 2015. The crossing still activates for trains as it hasn't had its relay case disconnected. I'm not sure if those signals are still there though. This streetview was last taken in July 2016, but going on the closed road gives you a 2008 to 2011 streetview.

Here is the crossing a month before the road was closed.

Here is the crossing in July 2016.

There are also videos of the crossing, here is one taken in June 2013.

Its best to look over at the grade on Google Earth, search Port Talbot Parkway.

Sometimes when I get an email for a new post on a thread and I don't see it until more posts have been made, the link takes me to the post that I got the notification for and I don't realize that there were more posts that were made.

And now that they have done this... the road will probably be completed later this year. :Tongue1:

Thought i'd give this topic a little bump after two years as i saw this in my subscription feed and felt like it would be "more appropriate" to post it here.

The line was doubled, with the crossing upgraded as part of the work Here is the crossing in 2014 prior to upgrade

2017, prior to the crossing being pedestrianisation

The crossing was downgraded after a new road bypass was completed.
