Location of known or existing Hazard Triangles in Australia

Post by TrickyMario7654 » Wed Mar 08, 2017 8:21 pm

This thread is used to post the location of Hazard Triangles known to still exist on old passive crossings or old style 'Crossing Ahead' signs.

The first Hazard Triangle I can think of is this one on an old passive crossing sign at Progress Street in Dandenong South.

Moving onto 'Crossing Ahead' signs, there's these two rare survivors at the Maidstone Street crossing in Altona.

Another crossing in the area (Civic Parade) has a Hazard Triangle (albeit, very faded and without the crossing sign, though).
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.865 ... 312!8i6656

Although this example has been removed, Racecourse Road in Pakenham had them until a few years ago.

Are there any others out there?

I like the idea of this topic but I don't think that it belongs in Lights, Bells, & Gates, I think Crossing Signal Discussion would be a better option which is de facto for all crossing topics even though it has "Crossing signals" in the name. :TUP2:

Found a few on the Newport-Sunshine freight line.

Kernot St, Spotswood.

Somerville Rd #2, Brooklyn.

An old passive crossing sign on an abandoned spur line that lead to a Freezing Works in Murtoa, Victoria
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-36.619 ... 312!8i6656

Saying in Murtoa, here's two old advance warning signs for the crossing on Marma Street.

Oddly, AAWS signs have been installed further up the road on one side. While a newer style 'Crossing Ahead' sign has been installed on the other!

Found one on Donald-Murtoa Rd.

Once again, a newer sign has been installed further up the road.

This advance warning sign is at a crossing between Culcairn and Gerogery in southern NSW. It's interesting how the sign is very close to the crossing because of the intersection. It was still there about a month ago. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.748 ... 312!8i6656

Found one on Sharps and Taylors Road near Tallarook, Victoria. Interestingly enough, they've used the passive version of the 'Crossing Ahead' sign (with a steam loco).

I've noticed a few tall mast signals in Victoria. Here's one in Beaconsfield.

And another at Springvale (this crossing has since been removed).

Getting back to the topic, I found one at the Jersey Farm Road crossing in Wongawilli
