Closed off railroad crossings.

Talk about signals ranging from wigwags to EVA signals here.

Closed off railroad crossings.

Are there any railroad crossings in your area that are closed off? This railroad crossing https://www.google.com/maps/@30.2030921 ... 312!8i6656 is closed off. There's a nearby overpass that goes over the railroad.

There are several in my area, a couple of which are on the site. I'm also moving this to the correct forum.
They/Them for me, please.

Click here if you want to submit crossing photos to the site!

There is also a Snapped tree next to the crossing.

Here are some one's I can think of off the top of my head:

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8138063 ... 6656?hl=en
Here is the other side: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8138345 ... 6656?hl=en

This was a nice one that operated as a double crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7707138 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7710955 ... 6656?hl=en
The signals remained up but deactivated for several years... they thought at one time they were going to re-open the road, but that never happened: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7706813 ... 1664?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7442973 ... 6656?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7960137 ... 6656?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8060565 ... 6656?hl=en
Here is this one just after it was closed (with the signals still in place): https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8060958 ... 6656?hl=en

Same fate as above for this crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.808349, ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8083385 ... 6656?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8112715 ... 6656?hl=en

This at one time was a 4 way crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8152647 ... 6656?hl=en
Here is what it looked like 10 years ago: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8152548 ... 1664?hl=en

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.8224944 ... 6656?hl=en

This at one time was a dirt road that went all the way to the next road to the south of the crossing. You can still see remnants of the old road on satellite view. This just had crossbucks only, no signals.

Here's some on the Bellingham Subdivision near where I live.

Thornton Street, Ferndale. No streetview available so I had to zoom in from I-5.

Delta Line Road, Custer.

Creasey Road, Custer. Crossing closed because railcars are often stored on the siding as seen in this Street View.

Percie Road, Custer. I'm thinking of filming here sometime.

Sumas Subdivision
2nd Street, Sumas. Very old and fuzzy image from when the crossing was open. The Advance Warning (RXR) sign still stands next to the post office however.

Scutvick Road, Deming. Been closed for as long as I can remember. Area is now overgrown.

Here's one in Lakeland, Fl. Back in 2011, there were cantilevers here. They even operated.

Fast forward to 2016 and the signals are gone.

Some crossbucks and stop signs were placed here though.

This one in Rock Hill, SC is interesting. Abandoned road and tracks.

It's gone now.
