Here's an interesting one in Hudson New York. These two signals probably use to be normal GYR signals, otherwise there wouldn't be a point in having a green light. What probably happens here is that when there is a train, the signal changes from the flashing red in the middle to a steady red in the top light. You'd think it would've made more sense to make the light in to a RYR signal that would function like a normal YYR signal. This probably use to be a normal intersection that would go red in all directions when there was a train, probably a decline in road traffic is why it is like the way it is now. Always neat to find unique and interesting stuff like this especially when it's kinda old and in a quaint historic little down like this on a street running line. Someone recently posted this in a Facebook group that I run, that is how I know about this.

Here is the signal for the crew. What probably happens is that it goes to amber when there is a train approaching and then to green when the signal for the road traffic has gone to a steady red.

I'm not sure what the blue signal is for, maybe something to do with emergency vehicles? Maybe when there is an emergency approaching on the road that crosses the tracks, the signals (for the road traffic) go to green?

Here are two more in Hudson. These two have more normal setups.

This town also has a good amount of incandescent traffic signals in it's downtown.

That third signal is actually for the side street. Also, nice find with those Crouse-hinds Type M signals!
They/Them for me, please.

That crossing is more of a passive crossing located in a traffic intersection. This thread is more for crossings that are signalized but use traffic signals instead of conventional crossing signals.

At first I did think it was just a passive crossing, but it has these two-aspect signals which appear to be for the trains, it's difficult finding a good view on GSV. One is mounted behind a pedestrian signal and faces along the track, it appears to be blacked out, so must only activate for trains.

Here is the signal for the opposite direction

This must be some kind of train detection or apparatus used to activate the crossing.

This one is pretty interesting. There is a third street at this crossing that is one-way. The signals for the cross street are normal GYR signals while the third street has a pair of signals with a red flashing 8" light and a 12" Red light. I presume when the crossing "activates" the lights go from flashing red to steady red. I wonder if the signals for the third street go to steady red when the cross street goes to amber or when it goes to red.

The old crossing sign on the station is also pretty cool.

Here is the crossing in 2008, other than the crossing markers in the road, there was no railroad crossing signage here.
