Only in Canada.
Gotta love how many Canadian crossing signals (mostly older ones) can have unique shapes or extensions just because of an obstruction which sometimes isn't even close to the crossing!
Here is one in London, Ontario.

Here is one in Windsor, Ontario. Not sure if I'd consider this a mast signal or a cantilever signal, almost seems like a mix!

It has an old 3 tracks sign as well!

Here are two more in Windsor, Ontario. They're pretty much more extreme versions of the signal above.

Wow, a lot of work went into those last 2! This one doesn't look too bad, except, well, this is what cantilevers are for...ToledoRailfan wrote:Gotta love how many Canadian crossing signals (mostly older ones) can have unique shapes or extensions just because of an obstruction which sometimes isn't even close to the crossing!

Funny how from a slight distance, tree branches cover up the lights!busman_49 wrote:Wow, a lot of work went into those last 2! I think these are for the nearby gas station, still odd.

Railfanning since December 28, 2009!
Re: Only in Canada.
I'm thinking more due to the telephone blocking the main lights. Interestingly... those "side" lights didn't exist in 2009:LARDLOGO wrote:I think these are for the nearby gas station, still odd.

I can honestly say I've seen worse uses of extra pairs of lights.cabman701 wrote:I'm thinking more due to the telephone blocking the main lights. Interestingly... those "side" lights didn't exist in 2009:LARDLOGO wrote:I think these are for the nearby gas station, still odd.
