You can see a crossing signal on fire in this picture.

(I'm thinking about wanting to have this moved to Crossing Signal Discussion, i just don't think it fits in this subforum.)

Found this one a couple of days ago, notice how the gate lights shut off upon inital impact

I also found this, but i'm kinda unimpressed with the peoples inital thoughts at the start, one even going as far as asking whether he should remove the Safetran hybrid bell.

I found this too, this driver turned too short, and ended up knocking a light loose, he did the right thing by stopping but called it in to emergency services instead of CSX firstly. A train also passed through around the 5 minute mark.

Not sure how this impact managed to rip the canteliever off its foundations.

I'm surprised you even think the cantilever could have survived that. With all that force going into it, I have no doubt that it would have been torn off its foundation!

Many cantilevers are only held down with four bolts into a concrete foundation below them. Granted, they're large, thick bolts, but a sufficient force could still easily topple them.

Also, here's the crossing on street view. It appears that the right-hand cantilever is the one that got struck:

Here's a signal getting destroyed in Midland, TX recently:

Not the most visible, but one of the signals gets plowed over by the train dragging the truck. Here's the crossing it occurred at, with the right-hand signal being the one that got destroyed:

At least the signal with the Mechanical Bell wasn't hit! :LOL2:

And the relay case was barely missed by the truck! :LOL3: :LOL3:
