Here's a passive crossing right at the end of a freeway, and the tracks crosses entrance and exit ramps. There is also an extra crossbuck way before the crossing for northbound traffic

That is an interesting crossing. I'm surprised it isn't signalized. In Monroe, Michigan, there was this interesting crossing at the beginning of an entrance ramp for I-75. Unfortanitly the crossing along with the signals were later removed in 2011 or 2012.
