Saw this on the news last Friday, This is why one should always be aware even when the Signals aren't active.

Indeed it is failure that the crossing activated late like that, but the cop had intentions to cross, and he was in the wrong by preparing to blow through flashing lights.
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538

Watched this video again. A commenter pointed out the workers on the left side of the crossing with a shed opened up. I found this crossing on GSV, and the shed that was opened does indeed belong to the railroad. It has milepost info + a white info sticker that is unreadable. There is also a smaller cabinet on the other side of the crossing, which is odd. The larger cabinet where the work was taking place is much larger than a typical crossing signal cabinet. The issue is that I cant be sure the larger cabinet is for the crossing signals and not something else.

It looks like there is a good possibility that the railroad workers caused this, or were working on a known problem, and failed to flag the crossing, which should have been done if there was a known problem.
