Sebring Ohio Model 10 signals retired

The WRRS Model 10 signals protecting the NS Fort Wayne Line (CR,PC, PRR) at 15th Street in Sebring, Ohio were retired sometime within the last few months. They had Safetran 8" lights, and newer signs on them, but the original motor boxes still worked. I loved how the gates came down and rose up in a very even, slow fashion.
As far as I know there was never any problems with them. Why do they replace these? Is it to satisfy new electronic or safety requirements?

There is another set exactly like them in Alliance, Ohio, but west of where most freight traffic diverges to Cleveland, so they don't see much use. They have their original WRRS lights on them, but the motorboxes are not the original. Interestingly, one of these was moved to a new base just about a year ago. The next crossing east received all new signals.
