Probably money.ZachL wrote:If those gates actually do what they say they do, then why aren't they standard at all gated railroad crossings to prevent accidents?
Ah, I hadn't seen that site before. Other searches I did on the internet for them didn't turn anything up. Also, it appears the photos of the product in use come from the crossing in AndyWS's post, where they're getting removed! Also, anyone else notice the fact that one of the pictures shows a WSOR engine with the WSOR name edited off?SirKrunch wrote:freebrickproductions wrote:RIP. BNSF is somewhat interesting in the "newer installs" department as well.freebrickproductions wrote:NS seems to be the only railroad these days that still has at least some variety with the newer installs.
It's like that in Melbourne, they usually only just replace what needs to be upgraded. Hence why there's some setups from the 1960's still in use today.PaulSP wrote:BNSF is somewhat interesting in the "newer installs" department as well.freebrickproductions wrote:NS seems to be the only railroad these days that still has at least some variety with the newer installs.
It seems they are more likely to just upgrade a signal, rather than tear out the whole thing.
