RIP. Though it appears they aren't made anymore, so that may be why. At least Alabama has a pair of them though...
They/Them for me, please.

Speaking of barriers coming down...
Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!

Would assume that will mean the extra long masts (that used to be cantilevers) will be gone too. Will be interesting to see what it looks like afterwords.

Seems like a lot of the interesting equipment from Wisconsin is being removed.

Same thing here in Victoria. Metro can't seem to stop scrapping M-bells!ToledoRailfan wrote:Seems like a lot of the interesting equipment from Wisconsin is being removed.
Thankfully, and I MEAN thankfully, they haven't touched this one!

That's how it is everywhere really, most railroads are standardizing all signal equipment.ToledoRailfan wrote:Seems like a lot of the interesting equipment from Wisconsin is being removed.
UP out here is tearing out signals that are only 10 years old to put in those new side bell mount setups.

Re: Barrier gates on Whitney Way (Madison, WI) to come down
NS seems to be the only railroad these days that still has at least some variety with the newer installs. I was talking with some NS signal maintainers today about NS's usage of LEDs, and one of them remarked that apparently one of the determining factors of if the new signals will get LEDs or not is if the state pays for it.
They/Them for me, please.
