10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
Here's a list of the 10 most dangerous crossings with the highest amount of accidents. This story is covered by KNXV ABC 15.
http://www.abc15.com/content/traffic/st ... OluNw.cspx
A few of the crossings on the list are on the website. They even provide DOT numbers of the crossings too.
What's not surprising is that the top 9 crossings are owned by BNSF. Only one (#10 rank) is UP.

Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
Looking at the crossings they list, I can agree with some of them.
There is one I don't agree with though...
They say tha the Parks crossing in Maine, AZ is a dangerous crossing. There has only been one accident total, which happened back in 1995, with no injuries...
Looks like ABC 15 didn't research some of their data correctly...

I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

looks liks one got eliminated by track separation so its defunct.

Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
That just shows how smart the news people are. How can that crossing be on the 10 most dangerous list if it hasn't existed for 4 years now???Crossingman18 wrote:looks liks one got eliminated by track separation so its defunct.
Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
Sounds more like a problem with their sources, if they are relying on 2002 FRA data.
It does show laziness on their part though, to not inquire whether things might have changed in 7 years.

Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
Wow...All I have to say is wow...
Having visited Arizona a couple times now, I personally can point out some other crossings imo that are way worse....
Although, Mike, I feel that a few more UP crossings should have made the list....But you live there, I don't....

Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
There's a couple in the Tempe area...and one or two in the Tuscon area that should have been really close, if not in the top 10....Smjh1979 wrote:I wish I could get to the UP crossings.

Re: 10 most dangerous crossings in Arizona
San Francisco St. in Flagstaff has had a high rate of accidents and deaths. That should've been on the list, not Parks.
