Train Hits Car at Bellefonte Road in Hollywood, AL

Post by freebrickproductions » Sun Jan 14, 2018 3:10 pm

Yesterday, NS 201 hit a car that was crossing the tracks at the Bellefonte Road crossing in Hollywood, AL. The crew is alright and the driver only had minor injuries, though, and is expected to survive. Sadly, the all MI signal at the crossing was knocked down, though it appears to be in decent shape and could probably be re-installed with a new base, though I wouldn't be surprised if the crossing gets an upgrade in the near future due to this.

Glad it wasn't the Safetran type 3 signal.

The relay case wasn't damaged/destroyed was it.

I honestly have no idea. It was an old lady, so she might just not have noticed that the crossing was active for one reason or another.

Also, went out to the crossing today, and the all MI signal was replaced with one of the old signals from Alabama Street in Courtland, AL, interestingly enough:
They/Them for me, please.
