This GS E bell on the KCS Heavener Sub sounds like its trying to emulate a Westinghouse Hybrid bell. Crossing in question is at 15:41. GS Type 1 possibly?
Proud owner of a safetran mechanical bell and Griswold mechanical bell along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

The signal shown in the video looks to be newer and the bell on it's a GS Type 2, so I'm gonna guess the bad bell there's a GS Type 2 as well. Or at least supposed to be one, lol.
They/Them for me, please.

Here's another bad-sounding GS Type 2, though not as off as the one in the above posts:

Another very-off-sounding GS Type 1 here, thanks to the fog at the time of recording:

Jump ahead to about the 56-second mark...

Oh wow, wonder how that happened? Something jammed-up in the gong, maybe?

At least the one on the crossing in the thumbnail sounds rather nice still, lol.
They/Them for me, please.

Another quite flat Safetran bell:

EDIT: This mechanical bell in the Neatherlands in the first clip also sounds very flat:

As shown later in the video, the bell in question has since been replaced.
They/Them for me, please.

Major TLC needed on these poor Safetran Hybrids.

The GS Type 1s here have that sound to them caused by moisture:
