RSI E-bell
I was talking with Trainzmandude2012 over Facebook when he sent me a picture of what may be an RSI gate holder, but on the left side is what appears to be an e-bell made by RSI!
link), though I do plan on sending them an e-mail about it.
I have no idea how common these are, if they were even used by railroads at all. For all I know, this could be on a display signal that they have at their headquarters or one of their distributers.
It appears to be similar to the GS e-bell in design, but with a triangular hole and "RSI" in big red letters. I don't believe they are produced anymore as it doesn't appear to be on their site (I have no idea how common these are, if they were even used by railroads at all. They/Them for me, please.

Re: RSI E-bell
As I said in the last sentence of the original post, I'm not sure. I think it may just be a display signal though.brett nc railfanner wrote:What crossing is that?

That picture was supposed to advertise their high wind brackets so I have no idea. I was the guy who discovered this (as per mentioned).brett nc railfanner wrote:What crossing is that?

Re: RSI E-bell
Is seems that RSI do indeed have their own e-bell. It must be very new, as it was not on their website when I last looked about 2 weeks ago. http://catalog.railroadsignalintl.com/i ... ls/ele-314
There is also a version available with a strobe light built into the top http://catalog.railroadsignalintl.com/i ... s/ele-314a
Looking at the technology in this bell I bet it won't come cheap. It will be interesting to hear how it sounds.

Oh wow. Thaks for the update! Based on the weathering of the one in the picture, I'm betting it was a prototype model. Would be interesting to see one of these in service somewhere though.McK&H.Aust wrote:Is seems that RSI do indeed have their own e-bell. Well, one of these has been found in service, at a zoo crossing of all places! Here's a video of it, and it sounds a lot like a Safetran Type 2 IMO.

Great find! Someone should tell him it's not a GS Type 2 though.freebrickproductions wrote:Well, one of these has been found in service, at a zoo crossing of all places! Here's a video of it, and it sounds a lot like a Safetran Type 2 IMO.
