Apparently this crossing in McCalla, AL had 7 GRS Lex-C 12x20 inch lights in 2013. No idea if they're still there, but I plan on checking it out anyways. Likely had all GRS Lex-Cs originally with 8 inch ones on the masts:

They/Them for me, please.

The Southern Railroad did, and they can still sometimes be found on lines that had fallen under the ownership of the Southern at one point or another.
They/Them for me, please.

Here is a 12'' pair in Acme, Michigan. Hopefully I'll be able to recover the data from my removable hard drive and I'll be able to make a page for this crossing! :aaargh:
Edit: Sorry that the image is so large, I could't get Photobucket to work. :aaargh:

Blue Ash & Sycamore Rds, Cincinnati, OH:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2149302 ... 56!6m1!1e1 - Lex-Cs and a Harmon crossbuck FTW!
(the other signal is a standard crossbuck with Safetran lights)

I have no idea how active these tracks are... Also note some maintenance work happening in the photo.

One of the things I particularly appreciate about CSX and the Pere Marquette line is the crossing signal upgrades have been slow to non-existent. This is great for people like us who prefer the vintage stuff. Lots of 8" lights throughout NW Indiana and Michigan. Lots of mechanical bells. Not every crossing has a gate, or even a bell for that matter -- and we're not talking about quiet zones. And those few Amtrak trains are moving. So on the safety side, there's room for improvement. On the train-watching side, I'm good for now. So...

GRS Lex-C...let's see. Michigan City, Indiana:

New Buffalo, Michigan:

Sawyer, Michigan:

These are all on the Pere Marquette line and I've also shot video of each of them. Just have to post them someday.

If there's one thing Michigan has plenty of, it's 8" GRS Lex-C lights!
