Wonder what other railroads on this side of the country used EM gate mechs?
The Chicago Transit Authority also used EM Gate Mechanisms on some of their Crossings.
Although I'm not sure if it counts as being on the Eastern Seaboard!

It's kinda in the middle. It counts on a technicality, though most people probably wouldn't associate it with the eastern half of the US.
I wonder if that crossing even still exists...
Believe so, but the CTA got rid of all of the Griswold equipment they had years ago.

Here's another CTA crossing we have on the site:

This crossing had a rough sounding bell until it was replaced a few years ago. (5:50)

Almost looks like the flashers were woken up and shocked by how they acted at activation there. :LOL3:

I guess so, but that issue is certainly not unique to this crossing.

I think he was talking about the bell, but lights flashing at a slightly faster speed at the start is something rather common with older flasher relays, especially on crossings upgraded to LEDs.
They/Them for me, please.

One of the EBA E-Bells on this crossing sounds a bit out of pitch.

Also a weird sounding bell also in The Netherlands.

Also a mechanical bell that seems to be having some trouble with its rate of speed.

It seems that said mechanical bell has now died.

A rather unusual sounding yodalarm, and some bad deactivation relays too. The alarms tone goes lower when the barriers raise for some reason.
