Re: Some flat sounding bells
A GS Type 1 heard at 0:45 in this video sounds bad, first one I've seen do this outside of Michigan:
They/Them for me, please.

This WCH bell sounds rather flat:
They/Them for me, please.

Here's a pretty bad (NEG?) e-bell:
They/Them for me, please.

Re: Some flat sounding bells
That bell has since been fixed as me and my friend noticed some stuff wedged into the gong. We managed to remove it from the bell. (I know that's considered tampering with railroad property. I do apologize for doing that) Luckily we managed to get what was removed out of the bell and it rings fine now. I have filmed this crossing again with its bell fixed, but for some reason YouTube won't let me upload it.

Re: Some flat sounding bells
The GS Type 1 heard a bit after 4:45 in the video below has a bit of a weird start-up on it, probably due to condensation or left-over rainwater:
They/Them for me, please.

This Safetran Type 3 in the land down under doesn't sound very great.

Why does everyone copy my signature?
OG signal collection signature, I think.

Re: Some flat sounding bells
I'd say this thing certainly counts:
EDIT: Here's how the bell was sounding 4 years ago:
EDIT 2: Elliot got another video of the bell, with it making a different sound:

Re: Some flat sounding bells
Here's a high pitch sounding wch e bell located on the Sedalia Sub in Dresden, MO. Crossing activation at 0:32. Almost sounds like a gs type 1. I assume the bell is a wch type 1 as it does sound like it has a scratchy tone to it
