Locations of Existing Safetran 1st Generation M-Bells

Post by LARDLOGO » Wed Aug 23, 2017 5:19 pm

A rare crossing bell that is seldom brought up. The easiest way to identify them is by the base. The base is smaller and the bell itself isn't shifted as far back as on the more common DC Loud Tone bell. They kind of look like RACO/ Griswold bells.

I'll start with the closest one in my area in Burlington, Wa.

There used to be quite a few of these in Melbourne, but the Metro bell nazis have gotten rid of all of them and replaced them with crappy e-bells.

Here was one of the last surviving ones, hanging on until around August 2016. (Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea):

Back in 2007, there was a second one (replaced with a hybrid bell in 2009).

Also around this time, the other gated signal had a black & white wishbone gate!

This one in Barnawartha, VIC is still standing today, but on borrowed time. Reason being is that the corrupt Andrews Labor government wants to put gates here, even though the road the crossing is on is rather quiet and is not worth putting gates here.
