Believe either Mike H. or Kight was the one who originally wrote that, though I did provide a bit of clarification further down the page.ZachL wrote:It would probably help to label that, then. Interesting how the GRS cantilever still has its 8" lights
18th Avenue also still retains its 8 inch lights, though it also has a pair of US&S cantilevers. Wonder if CSX plans on replacing them at some point in the near future, or if the lights have rusted to the cantilevers...

It's what they were branded in Italy, probably due to WABCO being a crossing equipment distributor there.Ethan the Railfanner wrote:WABCO Teardrop Bells? I didn't know they existed!freebrickproductions wrote:Here's another crossing in Italy with WABCO teardrop bells:

WABCO/US&S are kinda sorta almost identical with their equipment. The light heads between the two companies are alike, and I believe the gate mechs are as well.freebrickproductions wrote:It's what they were branded in Italy, probably due to WABCO being a crossing equipment distributor there.Ethan the Railfanner wrote:WABCO Teardrop Bells? However, there is a difference with their mechanical bells.

I believe WABCO was owned by US&S for a long time.ZachL wrote:WABCO/US&S are kinda sorta almost identical with their equipment. Didn't US&S go under in the late-1980's after Ansaldo STS acquired them?freebrickproductions wrote:I believe WABCO was owned by US&S for a long time.ZachL wrote:WABCO/US&S are kinda sorta almost identical with their equipment. US&S was still around up until the Electronic Bell era as they have their own E-Bell model which is kinda a unique design, at least the housing. I don't know if they're still around or not.NathanFromEngland wrote:Didn't US&S go under in the late-1980's after Ansaldo STS acquired them?freebrickproductions wrote:I believe WABCO was owned by US&S for a long time.ZachL wrote:WABCO/US&S are kinda sorta almost identical with their equipment. IIRC, they are. After US&S and WABCO separated, WABCO split in two becoming Wabtec (merger of part of WABCO and MotivePower Industries) and WABCO Holdings (which was owned by American Standard for 30 years up until 2007).ToledoRailfan wrote:US&S was still around up until the Electronic Bell era as they have their own E-Bell model which is kinda a unique design, at least the housing.
