Doesn't technically count because the crossing was downgraded by the FGCX but here is a US&S teardrop in Palmetto, Florida.

This would've gone better in Google Maps Scavenger Hunt.

That line is in piss-poor condition to the point that I thought it was out of service...

Here's a pair of WABCO Teardrops in Pompeii, Italy with AL-70 gate mechs:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7509508 ... 312!8i6656
Close-up of one, showing the WABCO name on the rainshield rather well:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7508588 ... 312!8i6656
Sadly, according to this video, they're in poor shape, with one struggling to ring while the other sounds like it doesn't work at all (save for maybe one ring just before it lowers all the way):

Another pair at the next crossing over:

Another one here:

And here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7607762 ... 312!8i6656

What appears to be an FS 64 or FS 88 crossing with a pair:

Another pair here:

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7690854 ... 312!8i6656

Might still be a pair here as well:

Another FS 64/88 crossing with a pair, and in action too!

This line is just full of them!

Yet another pair:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7827692 ... 312!8i6656

Another one with some AL-70s:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7852139 ... 312!8i6656

Another gateless crossing with a pair:

Another!

And another!
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7983315 ... 312!8i6656

And yet another, with some wishbone gates!
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8000852 ... 312!8i6656

Even more!

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8261417 ... 312!8i6656

Here's a pair with four(!) AL-70s at it:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8314399 ... 312!8i6656

Another one:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8323077 ... 312!8i6656

Yet another:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8347022 ... 312!8i6656

Man, how many of these setups does this part of Italy have?
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8359711 ... 312!8i6656

And here's another set of four AL-70s with two Teardrops!
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8369772 ... 312!8i6656
According to this video, both Teardrops here are rather healthy!

Google ran these signals as they started to lower!
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8508432 ... 312!8i6656

Just how many Teardrops does this part of Italy have? (If anyone wants to do a count, feel free to, lol.)

No thanks, but you can at least buy me a ticket to Florida though, because i'm not interested in going to Rhodes in around four months time.

freebrickproductions wrote:Found a crossing here in Alabama that still has a Teardrop bell! The crossing is Alabama Street in Odenville, AL, and it still gets somewhat regular use by the ATN when they send trains between Gadsden and Birmingham. I sadly wasn't able to record this guy in action though, since the train had yet to arrive by the time I had to leave, so I have no idea if he still works or not. This crossing doesn't have any street view at it either, so this was a complete surprise! The signal is an old SAL install too!

Well, after a few years of trying, I finally got a video of this crossing yesterday!

Very nice... and it looks like they were painted recently. It appears it has been a long time since they have seen a train though...
Judging from the fact that the spur ends not too far from the crossing, I'm going to assume that if any trains were to cross the road, it would be for switching purposes only.

Anyone else notice this?

Also, these can sadly be confirmed dead:
